A Boy And His Dog

DSCF0080

We got Mollie 4 years ago. She is a Soft-Coated Wheaton Terrier. These dogs are hypoallergenic and do not shed! They are the best. I always thought having a pet would be a good addition to our family, but I never imagined what it would mean to Casey.

Casey is my 20-year old son who is developmentally disabled (I hate that term). Mollie LOVES Casey unconditionally and it warms my heart to death. Every day when he comes home from school, Casey kneels down and Mollie puts her paws on Casey's shoulders and then licks his head. That may seem like no big deal to you, but Casey has alopecia and has had no hair since he was 2. It is like this dog knows this and will love him no matter what! Casey talks to her and the dog I swear answers him back. He will be talking and then the dog will like cry and whine back. It is the cuteset thing. So anyone with a special needs child, if you can, GET a pet. You have no idea what joy it brings them.

No matter what Mollie does in the house, shit piss, I overlook it! Just add it to the list. LOL
