So this weekend I was at a party. I was sitting there with a bunch of friends listening to them all brag how great their kids are and how popular, yadda, yadda. I just sat there.
Don't get me wrong - I love my kids to death and am proud of them - but I sooo know that they are not perfect. They have made mistakes and will continue too and I am happy about that. By making mistakes you grow as a person.
These parents who continue to think their kids aren't drinking or having sex or going to parties are living in a dream world. Get over yourselves. Like my husband says " High School doesn't matter. College does because it propels you to be successful and find out who you are".
And to those parents - it is your kid's successes and journey, not yours. I am sooooo glad my kids are late bloomers and when they go to their high school reunions, they will be the built handsome men and not the fat balding ones.
